Behind the Words

I have always enjoyed spending time with kids and helping them whenever they need. When I began tutoring, I was not really sure what I wanted to do with my life. I had some ideas, but I did not have a set ambition. While spending my mornings tutoring Owen Anderson (1) and helping him improve his reading, I began to realize that this is what I want to do; I want to be a teacher and teach kids that it is not bad to make mistakes, but it is what we do with our mistakes that makes the greatest impact. I wanted to write this book to show kids that we all get a little mixed up sometimes, and that is okay.
